Chapter Yi - a long rant

Been dragging my feet on starting my blog when I got here in Sydney >1 year ago. Even bought a Sony H10 for the purpose of posting nice pictures on the blog and that was 3 months ago. ( I love my Sony!)

Finally did it today after being "inspired" by reading blogs online. And of course because I'm lil miss moody today so I figured I really need to find a place where i can air my whinings.

So the mood started off bad because once again I have too much work and I knew it was going to spillover to my weekend. Not in sync with being a laid back girl in Aussie. It's already Sunday morning and it's still weighing at the back of my mind. Weekend's and evenings are so precious but I just have so much, I don't even know how i manage right now. It's still a little bit better than when I was in Singapore, but still.. this is not what I envision of Sydney I guess. It's starting to be a lot like SG. Not for SH, he's alright. My dream working hours of 9 to 5, with days off possible if you work extra hours! I'm so jealous!

And, the weather is sooooooo hot and we have no air conditioning at home. I wish our apartment's pool indoor, then I'll probably hang out there more often. But I'm getting fat again so don't really want to appear anywhere in tight fitting suits.

And then the shitty service from Woolworth yesterday. Sean and i signed up for their credit card to earn points. We don't have an issue paying in cash or etpos but heck, why not earn points along the way. Although we shop at coles more (because it's nearer), we top up our prepaid phone cards in woolworth a lot and their dairy stuff's much cheaper. In AU, it's pretty common for credit facilities to conduct a 100 point check to see if you are eligible. So they check your identifications and proof of address and if you qualify (points assigned to evidence given), they will approve your application. I had to get mine done as a sub card holder, Sean as usual is lucky.
I trudged there in the heat (wanting to eat the Malaysian hawker food behind woolies is beside the point) first time and had to be directed thrice to the right service desk. Then was told I had insufficient evidence (well the letter stated all I had to do was prove billing address!). So I went there again in the cooler evening as I wanted to settle this fast. But.... nobody knew how to handle the check for a sub card holder. Finally a very grudging employee came to "help me". She had a face that wouldn't smile at all. She made me feel like I was imposing on her and created some sore point in her day. I was all smiles and she couldn't even have the decency to smile back. I was so pissed, I wanted to walk away. To give her SOME credit, she did help me settle it, after another false alarm of having to come back with the application id. Another male colleague was much nicer. But still, I was so cheesed, I abandon my idea of buying a bag of chippies and walked away wondering if I should go back to woolies next time for my groceries.

If coles starts a similar program, I'll just shop at coles. It's nearer anyway.

And today, it's hot again. It's not the same in SG, it's the dry, oven heat. I prefer SG's wet heat, feels much better sweating it out. This kinda of heat makes me feel trapped inside. I've just tried my first attempt understanding and filling in the immigration papers. Whole stack of them... a lot. I'm trying my best to keep focus and motivated to have it all ready. Ok, aim to get this submitted - by end of this month!

Highlight of this weekend, I went to this second hand store and fell in love with this belt at the second hand shop. I've fallen in love with digging through salvo stores and second hand shops to dig for unknown treasures and prices that are a steal.

At AUD 15 bucks, it's bit pricey for my budget, considering it's not brand new. But I like the design, it's pretty solid too, not the weak soft ones that has creases after awhile. Sorry, i can't capture the design very well. (Fantastic camera, crappy skills, I think it's got to do with lighting, will experiment another time) But I like how there's no fixed holes so I can wear it at my hips or high on my waist. And I needed one to replace my old one which is flaking powdery stuff, I still can't bear to throw that one away....
I also fell in love with this cherry print canvas wedges. But at AUD8, it's unbelievably cheap but then it's used. And a bit smudgy outside. It's a tad loose (easily fixed with insoles) but comfy.. SH says it's too ugly and pulled me away. But if I can't get it out of my mind by next weekend, I'll go buy it. ;) It's not the prettiest of shoes but I like things which are a bit different sometime. I like it how it's a bit kitschy and plus it gives me some height without compromising on comfort. (at 5 feet, I need all the help to be a bit taller)

Oh well, I'm going to go Paddy's now to stock up on veges and fruits. Will cook curry tonight with frozen prata!! If i have the energy, I'll make my own prata one day. But not today!!

Excuse today for not exercising: Too hot
